Hillsboro Man Killed In A Semi Accident Near Fillmore

(Hillsboro)--A 56 year old Hillsboro man was killed in a semi accident Wednesday afternoon near Fillmore. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff‘s Office, around 5pm the Sheriff‘s Office received a call regarding a semi truck that had overturned. Sheriff‘s Deputies, and the Fillmore Police Department responded to the accident on Nokomis Road and Hawk Avenue.

Reportedly, the semi driven by 56 year old Terry Applegate of Hillsboro, was traveling southbound on Nokomis Road when he left the road and overturned. Applegate was trapped in the semi, and was extricated from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montgomery County Coroner‘s Office. The accident remains under investigation.
