Government Assistance Available Following Last Months Blizzard

(Springfield)--More than two thousand local goverments acrioss the state are eligible to receive federal assistance for their clean up efforts after last month's blizzard. The Federal Emergency Management Agency will reimburse towns up to 75 percent of the costs to remove snow and debris, repair damages to government owned buildings and other storm releated expenses.
Total damages across the state exceeded sixty four million dollars. Adams, Christian, Mercer, Peoria, Rock Island, and Winnebago counties are among those qualified to receive assistance.
