Carlinville Man Dies Near Palmyra

A Carlinville man is dead following a single vehicle accident Sunday morning southeast of Palmyra.

Twenty-Eight year old Justin Harbaugh was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:46am by Macoupin County Coroner Brad Targhetta.

According to the Macoupin County Sheriff‘s office, Harbaugh was northbound on Sportsman Club Road when he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway around 4:30am and his 1994 Chevy 1500 went out of control, struck an embankment and rolled over onto the drivers. Harbaugh was partially ejected and pinned under the truck.

Three passengers in the vehicle were not injured.
