Woman charged in Go Fund Me wire fraud

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 13:10:13 CDT
A former Harvel resident has been arrested and charged with wire fraud. 40 year old Nicole Drendel, now of Kirksville, MO, is alleged to have started a Go Fund Me account on behalf of 16 year old Jeffery Masters of Harvel, who was killed in an automobile accident in November of 2014.

Three thousand dollars was raised which was supposed to help with funeral expenses. The majority of those funds were never given to the Masters family or the funeral home.

Drendel was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where she posted five thousand dollars cash bail. Her next court appearance is set for August 17.
