Burgers Brats and Blues Event

A lunch time concert and cookout will be held on Saturday, August 13 to raise funds to help with NF research, patient support and public awareness. "Burger, Brats, and Blues," a SamJam event, will be held in front of Starr's Primal Meats in Carlinville, from 11am until 2pm. An accoustic blues band, The Loot Rock Gang, will perform and grilled sandwiches will be available for purchase.

SamJam events are held to honor Sam Oswald, of Carlinville, who has lived with complications from neurofibromatosis for his entire life. Now 31 years old, Oswald wants to help raise funds to support continuing NF research and assistance to NF patients and their families. A total of $35,000 has been raised during the first two years and donated to NF Midwest, an organization funding NF research and support throughout a six state area in the Midwest.
