Hillsboro Man Arrested After Alleged Stabbing in Downtown Apartment

A Hillsboro man was arrested Thursday after allegedly stabbing a man in a downtown apartment.

Brendon Flack, 18, was taken to the Montgomery County Jail on preliminary charges of aggravated battery after allegedly stabbing a man in an apartment above a downtown business around 11:35 a.m. Thursday.

Hillsboro Police Chief Randy Leetham said after the incident, the victim ran down the stairs and into a neighboring store with a stab wound to the head. After Hillsboro Police and Hillsboro Area Ambulance arrived at the scene, Flack was taken into custody on School Street without incident. The victim was taken to Hillsboro Area Hospital where he was treated and released.

The incident remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Taylor Springs Police Department, and assisting with the investigation is the State Police Crime Scene Unit.
