Potential Weather Causes Cancellation of Litchfield Pickers Market

The Litchfield Tourism Office has announced that the April market for the 2018 season has been canceled. The event, which was to be held this Sunday, is being canceled in anticipation of inclement weather that may be headed to the Litchfield area this weekend.

In a statement released Thursday, Tourism Coordinator Sarah Waggoner said, “Despite this typically being a rain or shine event, vendor, volunteer and visitor safety is our number one priority. At this point, we cannot guarantee safe conditions during the market, and therefore the event is canceled."

The cancellation means the grand opening of the 2018 Pickers Market season will now be held on Mother's Day, which is Sunday, May 13. The market will be held on that day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Litchfield.
