Multiple Injuries Reported in Two-Vehicle Accident

Multiple injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on Route 16 near the WSMI Litchfield Hillsboro studios.

According to the State Police, one westbound vehicle pulling a boat trailer slowed down and indicated a right turn onto Parsons Road. Another westbound vehicle following behind did not slow down and crashed into the rear of the trailer. Both drivers were taken to HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield with non life-threatening injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.

The accident occurred between 10 and 11 a.m. A portion of Route 16 was closed for an hour and a half while authorities were on scene. WSMI will continue to update this story as information becomes available.
