Police Investigating Automobile Crash in Taylorville

Authorities are investigating an automobile crash that occurred on Route 48 in Taylorville on Thursday, May 9.

According to Sgt. Don Kovack with Illinois State Police District 9, the incident occurred before 8:30 p.m. Thursday near McAdam Drive. Kovack said Route 48 had to be closed for an extended period of time while first responders were on scene.

The identities of the individuals and the number of vehicles involved have not been release at this time. WSMI will have more information on this story as it develops.
