Montgomery Co Vote by Mail Underrway

The vote by mail era continues and now the process begins for he upcoming April 6th election. The Montgomery County Clerk’s is now accepting applications for vote by mail ballots. Consolidated Election in-person Early Voting is now available at the Historic Courthouse in Hillsboro as well. County Clerk Sandy Leitheiser stated all voters will not be mailed Vote By Mail Applications for this election as they were at the November election, since it isn’t mandated by Illinois law. Illinois law for voting early or voting by mail requires the voter to be an eligible Montgomery County registered voter. To vote early, voters may go to the Early Voting Room in the basement of the Historic Courthouse in Hillsboro and vote in person. To vote by mail, voters may either go to the county website at www.montgomeryco.com and download the Vote By Mail Application form and complete, sign and mail it to the County Clerk’s office; or call the County Clerk’s at 217-532-9530 to receive a vote by mail ballot application mailed to them. All applications for vote by mail ballots must be received in the office by April 1 st. Voters may vote early in person at the Montgomery County Clerk’s Early Voting Room in the Historic Courthouse basement now through April 5th. For voter’s convenience, in addition to weekdays the County Clerk’s Early Voting Room will be open on Saturdays March 20 th , March 27 th and April 3 rd from 8:00 AM to 12 NOON for Early Voting services. Weekday voting hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.
