State Police Special Patrols in Macoupin and Greene Counties

Illinois State Police District 18 Commander Mark Gillock has announced state police will conduct special patrols in Macoupin and Greene counties in March.

In Macoupin County, Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement patrols will be from 6pm until 6am. Troopers will focus o preventing, detecting and taking enforcement action for impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.

In Greene County, troopers will conduct roadside safety checks from 4pm until 6am. Roadside checks aim to combine public awareness and enforcement to prevent traffic fatalities.

Seat belt and child restraint use, speeding, and distracted driving laws will also be enforced.
