Thu, 11 Mar 2021 14:08:22 CST
This week, we told you that Hillsboro Schools Superintendent David Powell received a four-year contract extension that he says will take him to the end of his career. He won't be alone in collecting his last paycheck from the district at mid-decade. Hillsboro High School Principal Patti Heyen and Assistant Principal Andrew Stritzel have announced their intentions to retire when Powell's final contract is complete. Like Powell, Stritzel was a home grown success story, having graduated from Hillsboro High back in 1986, before teaching and coaching in Vandalia and moving back home to the district in 1999 to serve as a coach and teacher and then was promoted to assistant principal and athletic director in 2008
