The Consolidated Election is underway in Montgomery County.   Montgomery County Clerk and Recorder Sandy Leitheiser says most polling places had a slow start as far as turnout. 658 voters cast their ballots in advance of today's election. Polls remain open until 7 p.m.   Six of Montgomery County’s 20 municipalities have contested races for mayor or village president.     In Litchfield, City Council member Dwayne Gerl is trying to unseat incumbent Steven Dougherty for Mayor.   In Donnellson, the choices for village president are Pamella Short and John Dankoski. Five candidates are seeking three trustee positions.     In Nokomis, former county board candidate Jake Leonard is facing incumbent Michael Holliday. Michael Gonzalez and Harry Jackson are running for village president of Taylor Springs. Waggoner has Ronald Eliason and Ronald Seaton as the choices for village president. There is also a race for an unexpired trustee seat between Dennis Cook and Mark Taylor.   Witt has five contested city races, with a three way battle for Mayor. Incumbent James Van Ostranis facing Shawn Cady and Timothy Taylor. There are also contested races for city clerk, two races for Ward 1 alderman and another for Ward 3.   There's a number of competitive township races and on the school board side, there's one competitive race, in Hillsboro. Nathan Kirby, John Lentz and Kyle Putnam are battling for two seats.   Five candidates filed for three seats on the Hillsboro School Board, but only two of the three candidates from Hillsboro Township can be elected: Nathan Kirby, John Lentz, and Kyle Putnam will face off. Barbara Mulch will appear on the ballot, but she has withdrawn from the election.
