Deer Run Mining Map Released

While the operators of Hillsboro’s Deer Run Mine have pledged to repair sunken ground along Route 185 and neighboring areas, the question is where will Patton Mining LLC’s future efforts create potential issues next. Montgomery County Clerk/Recorder Sandy Leitheiser has a preview. Her office recently received a copy of Hillsboro’s Deer Run Coal Mine 2021 Annual Mining Map but she isn’t keeping it to herself. The map is now available at the Montgomery County website www.Montgomeryco.com. and the GIS mapping page. The map defines the location of both previously mined areas and proposed mining areas for Deer Run Coal Mine on a yearly basis. A printed copy of the map is also available for viewing at the County Clerk’s office where masks and social distancing are required.
