Power Outage Timetable Released

Power should return by a lunch time after a large chunk of Montgomery County suffered a power outage impacting nearly 6200 customers. Ameren officials are offering an estimated safe power restoration time of 11:45 this morning. An insulator unit malfunctioned, triggering the the outage at 8:30 this morning. Hillsboro, Raymond, Morrisonville, Irving, Taylor Springs are among the towns impacted. An insulator unit attaches electric power distribution or transmission lines to utility poles and transmission towers. They support the weight of the suspended wires without allowing the current to flow through the tower to ground.
