Update: Litchfield Wal-Mart Closed as Cleanup Continues

Typically, Wal-Mart opens its doors to customers ready to start their day with grocery shopping, seeking out every day needs, a new set of tires..... what have you, but the usual 7am opening didn’t happen this morning after firefighters scrambled to the big box store after a fire broke out in the grocery area of the store. While one person was checked for smoke inhalation initially, the Litchfield Fire Dept reports no injuries. Litchfield fire crews made short work of the blaze after shoppers and employees were evacuated. Raymond/Harvel, Hillsboro and Mt. Olive were among departments that provided assistance. There’s no word on a cause of the blaze. The store is closed and Wal-Mart officials are evaluating when it can reopen.
