A Jerseyville woman was killed in a car versus pedestrian accident Thursday in Jersey County. According to Illinois State Police, 26 year old Cindy Zimmerman of Godfrey was driving a 2019 Nissan Versa northbound on IL Rt. 3 south of Newbern when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a woman around 9:56am. 38 yeart old Sarah Allen of Jerseyville was identified as the pedestrian. Zimmerman sustained injuries in the accidnet and was transported to an area hospital. IL Rt. 3 was closed for approximatley 4 hours while the crash was investigated.
