Irish Days Returns with a Vengeance

The big three day extravaganza begins Thursday (June 10th). Irish Days returns to Farmersville in its full glory after Covid 19 struck last year.   Food and Beer tents open as well as the Maker’s Market at 5pm Thursday to kick off the event. Rides, games and park exhibits will open at 6 p.m. Opening ceremonies are set for 7 p.m.   Little Miss and Mister Irish Days will take part in their coronation during the ceremonies. Opening Night Music in the Knights of Columbus tent will feature Live Wire with an acoustic performance.   

On Friday, the day kicks off at 7 a.m. with the food tent opening at 7 a.m. and the Maker’s Market opening at 10 a.m. Hillbilly Golf Tournament registration opens at 2. The Silver Dollar Band will perform from 4 to 6. Beer will begin flowing and fish frying in the K of C Tent at 4 p.m. and the tent will remain open until midnight. Foot races for preschool through 6th grade will begin at 6 p.m. Rides and games will also open at 6.   There will be a tree planting in honor of Mike Gorman and Jim Keller. The band 90’s Daughter will perform from 8 to midnight.

On Saturday, registration for the Breast Cancer Fun Run Walk will begin at the gym at 7 a.m. Food tents will also open at 7 a.m.   Registration for the Antique Truck and Tractor Show will open at 9 a.m. The Maker’s Market starts at 10 a.m. The Pedal Tractor Pull starts at 10 a.m. for kids 12 and under. The Chili Cook-Off also starts at 10 a.m. To find out more about the Chili Cook-off, contact Brad Whalen at 239-404-0873 or .    The Bags Tournament registration opens at 11 a.m.   Fish and beer will once again be available in the K of C Tent from 11 a.m. to Midnight.   11 a.m. also marks the start of the Antique Truck and Tractor Pull. The Adult Pedal Tractor Pull will open at 11:30. Registration for the Irish Days Parade starts at 3 p.m. at St. Isadore School. The parade begins at 4 with a theme of A Century Ago.   At 6 p.m., rides and games will resume and Professor Longhair will make an appearance at the pavilion. At 6:30 the Irish Days Queen Pageant will begin. The Citizen of the Year will be honored just before the new Queen is crowned. Music from Off the Wall from 8 until midnight will close out Irish Days 2021.
