Update on Northbound I-55 Incident

Northbound I-55 traffic was slowed just a mile north of the Montgomery County Line. At one point, traffic was backed up for some three miles into Montgomery County. Preliminary information indicates the following occurred: Illinois State Police District 9 responded to a reported armed pedestrian at the above location and time. One male has been safely taken into custody for questioning. No injuries have been reported at this time. Northbound lanes were shut down for approximately 30 minutes for the investigation. The Illinois State Police is leading the investigation. As the investigation is in it’s infancy, no additional information is available at this time.
