Hydrant Testing Underway in Litchfield
Mon, 14 Jun 2021 14:11:02 CDT
Well if your shower doubles as a back massager, you might have to settle for a less exhilarating experience this week in Litchfield. Beginning today, the fire department begins annual hydrant testing. The flushing will take place through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and will continue until all hydrants have been tested. Fire crews make every effort to stay within the scheduled times, however, weather and calls for emergency service may cause some slight deviations. During this time, you may experience reduced water pressure and discoloration of your water. The discoloration will subside. The water will still continue to be safe to drink. Despite these inconveniences it is necessary to flush the fire hydrants to remove any sediment that might have settled in the water mains and to ensure that the hydrants remain in good working order.
