Legislation allowing 16 and 17 year olds to register for the state's First Person Consent Organ/Tissue Donor Registry when they receive their driver's license or identification card will take effect on January 1, 2018. State Owes Nokomis School District $39,000 for FY 17

Livingston Woman Dies from Injuries Suffered in Accident

A Livingston woman has died from injuries she suffered in a ten-vehicle accident on Interstate 55 Friday afternoon. Pauline McKinney, 62, died Monday at 6:34 p.m. She had been airlifted from the scene of the crash to St. Louis University Hospital. A young Benld resident has died from injuries sustained in a UTV accident Sunday night in rural Plainview. According to Macoupin County Sheriff Shawn Kahl, he was notified by the St. Louis Medical Examiner that 11 year old Madyson Loftis was pronounced dead Tuesday morning at 3:47am in the St. Louis Children's Hospital.  Read more...

Drivers Extricated from Semis After I-55 Accident

Two semi drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles after an accident Thursday evening on Interstate 55 near Hamel. According to a St. Louis TV station, police said the accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Thursday near mile marker 33 in the southbound lanes of the interstate.  Read more...
